MISSIONARY SHOT
BY DRUNKEN JAPANESE. WHILE PROTECTING CHINESE NURSES. LONDON, June 8. The Peking correspondent of “The Times” reports that an American missionary, Dr Frederick Scobel, was shot through the body by a drunken Japanese soldier while protecting Chinese nurses at the Presbyterian Mission Hospital at Tsining. Dr Scobel is expected to recover.
