OBITUARY
MR JENS SIGVERTSEN. The many friends throughout the Wairarapa will regret to learn of the death of Mr Jens Sigvertsen, which occurred this morning at the Greytown Hospital. The late Mr Sigvertsen, who was 84 years of age, was a pioneer settler of the Mauriceville district where he was very well-known and ' highly respected. He arrived in New Zealand from Denmark in 1874 and after spending a few years in Wellington he took up land at Mauriceville where he carried on farming pursuits until he retired about ten years ago. He had been in ill-health for the past seven years but only entered hospital a few months ago. He was the oldest member of Court Kopuaranga and was also closely connected with many district activities in his younger days. His wife predeceased him about 16 years ago. and.he is survived by four sons, Messrs J. P. (Eketahuna), J. (Hastwells), A. (Napier), E. W. (Hamilton), and two daughters, Mesdames N. Brash (Masterton) and W. Dicken (Hamilton), who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in the bereavement The funeral will take place on Saturday at the Lutheran Cemetery, Mauriceville, at 2 p.m.
