A rather deep westerly depression with a considerable northward extension is now passing in the south. Pressure is rising over south-eastern Australia. Forecast: Moderate to strong northerly to north-westerly winds at times reaching gale force, but later backing in places to westerlies. Weather: Cloudy to overcast, and rain probable, with some heavy falls. Temperatures mild but becoming cooler tomorrow.
