TRANSMISSION OVER 200 MILES TEST IN ENGLISH TOWN PROGRAMME OF DANCING SHOWN CLEARLY (British Official Wireless.) (Recd This Day, 10.23 a.m.) RUGBY, June 6. Television transmission over a distance of 220 miles is reported from Middlesbrough, when, on a standard receiving apparatus, erected on a specially chosen site, on the outskirts of the town, an Alexandra Palace programme of dancing and other items was clearly viewed, with some interruptions due to electrical interference, for over an hour.
