JAPANESE MAKING READY FOR NEW ADVANCE AGAINST STRONG RESISTANCE . INDICATIONS OF RUSSIAN AID FOR CHINA. (Recd This Day, 11.35 a.m.) LONDON, June 3. “The Times” Shanghai correspondent says the Japanese are fighting in the Langfeng and Kaifeng areas to rectify their line preparatory to a general advance upon the Peking-Han-kow Railway, against fierce Chinese resistance. Both sides are claiming advantages. The “Times” Hong Kong correspondent says an afternoon air raid on Canton killed fifty workers in a textile factory. “The Times” Riga correspondent says that though the result of Dr Sun Fo’s mission to Russia is not disclosed, it is clear that a non-aggression pact has been concluded between China and Russia. There is great activity on the routes leading to China, especially in Outer Mongolia, where Red Army officers are superintending the training of volunteers going to China. Large supplies of ammunition are being sent to China.
