WOMEN SET HIGH STANDARDS OF PLAY. MRS WILLS MOODY DEFEATED. (Recd This Day. 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 3. At the Weybridge tennis tournament, in the women's singles semi-finals. Miss Marble beat Miss Jedrzejowska. 6/2, 6/3. Mrs Heinemiller beat Miss Hardwick, 6/4, 7/5. In a quarter-final Miss Hardwick surprisingly defeated Mrs H. Wills Moody, 1/6 6/3. 6/3. The “Daily Mail's” tennis writer says “Miss Marble, in defeating Miss Jedrzejowska, played the best women’s tennis I have ever seen. This does not exclude Mdlle Lenglen or Mrs Wills Moody at their best.”
