NATIONAL ANTHEM
CONTROVERSY IN SOUTH AFRICA. CABINET'S COMPROMISE DECISION.. (Recd This Day, 9.55 a.m.) CAPE TOWN, June 2. The Minister of Education (the Hon. R. Stuttaford) resigned, owing to the omission of the National Anthem, but after a Cabinet decision, giving equal status to “God Save the King” and “Die Stem,” Mr Stuttaford withdrew his resignation.
