SHEEP DOG TRIALS

NORTH ISLAND ASSOCIATION. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WANGANUI, June 2. “The season has been an exceptionally good one, and is evidence of the better times,” said the chairman of the North Island Dog Trial- Association, Mr R. J. McDonald, Dannevirke, in his annual report presented last night. The annual conference of the association was held in conjunction with the dog trials now being decided at Kai Iwi. Mr McDonald said the association could show a credit balance on the year’s working, a thing it had not been able to do for the past two years.

The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr W. H. Gaisford (Dannevirke), re-elected; president, the president of the club holding the 1939 trials; vice-presidents, Mrs A. Holden (Makotuku), Messrs A. Avery (Petane), J. Murphy (Mohaka), G. Holden (Makotuku), H. P. Hewitt (Central Waikato, Cambridge), E. J. White (East Coast, Porangahau), J. McHarvey (Dannevirke), C. H.
