DOMESTIC DISCORD
AIRED IN MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
In a case which came before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M., in the Masterton Magistrate’s Court today, a husband asked for an adjournament of the hearing of an application by his wife for separation and maintenance and declared: “I do not want to say anything about my wife. I have a lot of time for my wife. I have been as kind as I can to her and provided her with a home. I might have been a bit ‘growly’ at times, but I done the best I can and I want to live with my wife.”
The wife opposed the application for an adjournment and said: “He has threatened to cut my throat. He has kicked and punched me in my sleep. Once he threw a cup of tea over me and kicked me in the stomach.” The Magistrate, Mr H. P. Lawry, granted the application for an adjournment.
