SOUTH PARK

MR RACTLIFFE'S SERVICES APPRECIATED. TRIBUTE BY THE MAYOR. A high tribute to the splendid services given by Mr F. E. J. Ractliffe as president for the past eleven years of the South Park Society was paid by the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, at last night’s meeting of the Masterton Borough Council. Mr Ractliffe, observed Mr Jordan, had just retired from the position of president of the society. During the eleven years he held that position he had set an example to the community and his place would be very difficult to fill. Mr Jordan said he would like the people to know just how much was due to Mr Ractliffe in the care and development of South Park. Thanks were also due to the caretaker for his fine work at the park. A motion was passed expressing the appreciation and thanks of the council for the wonderful work done by Mr Ractliffe during the eleven years for which he had been president of the society.
