PARK CLUE'S ANNUAL MEETING

A record attendance of members assembled at the Y.M.C.A. hall on Monday evening for the twenty-third annual meeting of the Park Bowling Club.

The chair was taken by Mr R. Wallace (president), who expressed his appreciation at the number present. Moving the . adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, Mr Wallace congratulated the club upon the much improved condition of the finances, and thanked the members for their cooperation in producing this happy state of affairs.

The report and balance sheet were discussed and adopted without amendment.

The following officers were elected for the 1938-39 season: —President, Mr R, Wallace; vice-president, Mr G. Dagg; hon secretary, Mr A. Osborn; hon treasurer, Mr W. Gibson; match

committee, Messrs Kilgour and Vincent; sole selector, Mr R. Jenkins; hon auditor and publicity, Mr S. Vincent (All the above were re-elected); general committee, Messrs Kilgour, Shearer and Vincent (re-elected), Burke and Thompson; delegates to the Wairarapa Bowling Centre, Messrs Dagg, Butler and Jenkins.

It was decided that the subscription be the same as last year, viz., £2 10s for seniors and £1 10s for beginners. The delegates were instructed to support the Booth Cup competition as a challenge competition. A letter of apology was received from Mr C. Bell, who, in expressing his regret at his absence, stated that this had been the first annual meeting he had missed since the club had been formed. The meeting unanimously decided to place on record the club’s appreciation of the services rendered for twentythree years by Mr Bell, and to express regret that through pressure of business he was unable to accept any office this year. , >■ Several new members were elected. A vote of thanks, to the chair concluded one of the most successful meetings in the history of the club.
