POST OFFICE RAIDED
SAFE REMOVED AND BLOWN OPEN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 31. Bursting in the front door of the Glen Eden Post Office last night, thieves removed a safe weighing 3cwt. and containing over £2OO in cash, postal notes and stamps. The safe was later found on Shaw Road, three miles distant. It had been blown open with gelignite and £75 in cash extracted. The postal notes and stamps were left in the safe. The burglary was discovered this morning by a newsboy. Residents heard an explosion early this morning.
