BRIDE=TO=BE
GUEST AT SEVERAL PARTIES Miss C. Petersen, who is to be married tonight, has been the guest of honour at several parties recently. A very enjoyable gift evening for her was arranged by Mrs G. McKay and Mrs John MacKenzie at the residence of Mrs McKay, Casel Street, Masterton. Musical items and games passed the time away and supper was served by the hostesses. Many useful and pretty gifts were received for which the bride-to-be suitably replied. Another very pleasant evening for Miss Petersen was given last Wednesday by Mrs H. J. Jones and Miss Reenie Jones at their residence “Hydro Lodge,” Renall Street. Dancing was enjoyed, also a humorous sketch by Mr A. Carstens, and songs by Miss Edith Ralph. Many dainty linen gifts were received for which Mr Louis Brooks (the groom-to-be), suitably replied. Still another very pleasant afternoon was given last Saturday by Mrs A. Carstens, of Essex Street, assisted by Mrs D. R. Duncan of Cole Street. Numerous items and competitions were enjoyed. Many kitchen gifts were opened by the bridesmaids-to-be, the Misses Avice Petersen and Reenie Jones, for which the bride suitably replied.
