HEAVY RAIN

INTERRUPTION TO TRAFFIC ON WEST COAST WASH-OUT AND SLIPS OCCUR (By Telegraph —Press Association.) GREYMOUTH, May 29. Heavy rain at the week-end caused a wash-out in the Runanga district. The railway line was washed out, interrupting road and railway services. Three co-operative mining parties at Dunollie had their bridges washed away. Two slips on the Rewanui railway are likely to prevent the Liverpool mine working tomorrow. In Greymouth 210 points of rain fell in the 24 hours to 9 a.m. today. Blackball experienced an extremely heavy downpour. A slip occurred al Ngahere and interfered with railway traffic.
