Sir Earle Page last night was the guest of honour at the Goldsmith’s Dinner, Referring to the Commonwealth s case for the revision and continuation of the Ottawa agreements, he said there was more British capital invested in Australia than anywhere else in the world. Australia was Britain’s most regular payer of loan interest. Her sinking fund during the last six months had actually reduced the outstanding interest, while the Commonwealths, in the first three months of 1938, was the greatest importer from Britain and second-greatest exporter to her.
