FATAL ACCIDENT
LINESMAN’S DEATH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 26. Mr Nelson Tuck, aged 31. died today as a result of an electric shock. He was a linesman employed by the New Plymouth Borough Council and had two children, his wife still being in a maternity hospital with the younger. Mr Tuck, with other members of the staff, was working on lines at Vogeltown. He climbed a pole to cut off power to facilitate the work and signalled that the power had been disconnected. Then there was a flash as though of a short-circuit, and Mr Tuck fell backwards to the ground, probably receiving severe injuries in the fall. He was taken to hospital in an ambulance but died soon afterwards.
This is the second fatal accident in similar circumstances among the same stall' in a few months.
