BASKETBALL
WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION. GAMES FOR TOMORROW. At a basketball executive meeting held this week it was decided to regrade two of the teams playing in the A grade, and as a result the whole of the draw will be altered. Matches already played will not count for the competition. The first matches in the new draw (for Saturday next) are as follow:— A Grade. Court I, 2 p.m.: H.S.O.G. II v. College 11, Mr Price. Court I, 3.30 p.m.: T.O.G. v. College I. P. Kilmister. Court 11, 2 p.m.: Stars I v. lona, R. Edwards. Court 11, 2.45 p.m.: H.S.O.G. I v. Stars 11, D. O’Donnell. B Grade. Court 111, 2 p.m.: lona v. College I, B. Venner. Court 111, 2.45 p.m.: Dalefield v. T.OiG., Mrs McEwen. Court I, 2.45 p.m.: Carterton v. College 111, A. Burgess. ■ Court 11, 3.30 p.m.: Stars v. College 11, R. Eastwood. Hospital, 3 p.m.: Hospital v. College IV, A. J. Shelton. The executive decided that no basketball matches will be played on June 11, the day of the India-Waira-rapa hockey match in Masterton. It vzas agreed to make a donation towards the travelling expenses of the Carterton and Dalefield teams, which travel to Masterton each Saturday. As there are six College teams in the competition it was decided that there should be a reduced fee for these teams. Each player is being asked to bring Id per Saturday during the season, such money being put towards the travelling expenses of the representative team to the tournament at Timaru.
