WEDDING
LAMBERT—GARARD. A wedding of considerable interest took place at Knox Church recently when Eva Mavis, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. F. Garard, of Masterton, was married to . John Charles, eldest son of Mr and Mrs R. Lambert, of Masterton.' The ceremony was performed by the Rev. John Davie, Mr Chas. Kerry presiding at the organ. The bride, who entered the church accompanied by her father, looked charming in a gown of white chantilly lace over satin. She carried a posy of orange blossom. A sweeping train added to the attractiveness of the dress. A Her tulle veil worn over her face as she entered the church fell from a halo of tiny orange blossoms. Her bouquet of cream chrysanthemums and roses accentuated the tones of her gown.
The bridesmaids, Miss Dulcie Garard (sister of the bride) and Miss Constance Lambert (sister of the bridegroom) wore slim fitting frocks of pale green lace over shimmer satin, trimmed with gold, with head bands and shoes to tone. They carried bouquets of autumn flowers.
The duties of best man were carried out by Mr Jack McDonald, of Masterton, while the groomsman was Mr W. McFarland, of Hawke’s Bay. After the ceremony a reception was held in the Cosy Tea Rooms when Mrs W. F. Garard, who wore, a gown of navy morocaine, and carried a bouquet of autumn flowers, received the guests. She was assisted by Mrs R. Lambert, who was attired in a gown of navy satin beaute and pink georgette. Her bouquet consisted of pink roses and English honeysuckle. Visitors were present from Timaru, Feilding, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu and Auckland.
Many congratulatory telegrams were received by Mr and Mrs J. C. Lambert and also a cable from the U.S.A. Mr and Mrs Lambert left later on their moneymoon, which included an aerial tour of the South Island, the bride wearing a navy costume with accessories to tone. Their future home will be in Masterton.
