FARMERS ON TOUR

WESTLAND PARTY VISITING WAIRARAPA

ARRIVAL IN MASTERTON ON TUESDAY

Arrangements are now well in train for the entertainment of the visiting party of Westland farmers which is to arrive in Masterton next Tuesday. May 31. There will be about a hundred members in the party, which will arrive by train from Wellington on Tuesday morning -at 11.15. A town and country sub-committee for the entertainment of the visitors is inviting the citizens of Masterton to provide transport for the party on Tuesday afternoon to visit such places as Wairarapa College, the Fish Hatcheries, C. E Daniell’s timber mill, Perrose, the Waingawa Freezing Works, and other parts of local interest. On the following, Wednesday, Farmers’ Union members are asked to cooperate by providing from 30 to 35 cars for a tour which will probably embrace points of interest at Greytown. Tauherenikau, Featherston and if time permits, a triangular trip from Featherston to Tuhitarata and back, via Martinborough to Mastertbn. The interests of the visitors will be Catered for by the inspection of pure bred stock and model industries, and a survey of local farming conditions. Those who have cars for the disposal of the visitors are asked to communicate with Mr J. Watson. Wairarapa Provincial Secretary of the Farr ers’ Union or with Mr H. D. Boddington.
