ANOTHER 600,000 WANTED IN BRITAIN

The Home Secretary, Sir Samuel Hoare, who, two months ago, appealed for 1,000,000 air-raid precaution volunteers, has broadcast an announcement to the effect that the Government now had about 400,000 and were near the half-way mark. The other half was wanted before the summer holidays.
