Dumping Ground for Eggs.

The price and quality of eggs in Wellington have been causing dissatisfaction among housewives for many weeks. The storekeeper has borne the brunt of the complaints, but inquiries made have revealed that the storekeepers themselves are not satisfied. The need for an improvement in the quality of eggs and for a closer supervision of the industry was expressed by several Wellington grocers. A member of the executive of the Wellington Grocers’ Association said: “Wellington seems to be the dumping ground for any egg that cannot be sold anywhere else. There is always a market here, no matter what the price may be.”
