GOLD FROM THE AIR
When gold specie is lost from a seagoing ship there is a strict procedure about the salving of it, including the provision of a reward to the salvers. An arrangement is made between the finders and the insurance companies. The common misapprehension that “finding means keeping” does not apply even here. Captain Bartholomew Wicks, however Sid not care for such official procedure. He saw the gold drop from an aeroplane on to the shore, and nobody else did; so he decided to keep his find. But he calculated without his mate, Peter Drew, who cared more for honesty than for unscrupulous adventure. Thus opens “Vagabond Voyage,” a new tale by Alroy West, which the Wairarapa “Times-Age” have obtained for serial publication beginning on Friday. Mr West is the author of “Stratosphere Express,” “Messengers of Death,” and other exciting stories of romantic adventure. The voyage of Captain Wicks to South America provides Mr West with the means of instilling into a highly original tale that dash of audacity which has given his earlier novels success beyond the average.
