HER STAR PUPIL—A HORSE!
Eleanor Powell has instructed thousands of people in the art of tap dancing but recently she received her most difficult assignment when she was given a horse for a pupil. One of the numbers for “Broadway Melodj' of 1938.” takes place in a freight car containing a race horse. Jack Cummings, the producer, hunted high and low for a dancing horse but none could be found. As a last resort he hired a circus horse and asked Miss Powell to give it dancing lessons. Miss Powell, in turn, enlisted the aid of Buddy Ebsen and George .Murphy to help her with the animal.
Errol Flynn has become an archery enthusiast as a result of learning to use the long bow and arrow for his latest picture for Warner Bros., “The Adventures of Robin Hood.” He is planning a big game hunting expedition to New Guinea with bows and arrows as the weapons —a skilled rifle game hunter will accompany him however.
