The “News Chronicle” says Lord Halifax has twice received Herr Dircksen (German Ambassador) in continuance of his efforts to lessen CzechGerman tension, pointing out that the attitude of German newspapers towards Britain is not assisting conciliation. “The Times” Prague correspondent says elaborate preparations are being made for the funeral of Hofmann and Boehm. Herr Henlein is to attend to make a speech. Thousands of wreaths include two from Hitler. Hoffman and Boehm, Sudeten Germans, were shot by a Czech policeman in the frontier town of Cheb on Saturday last.
