COMMON GAMING HOUSE
KEEPER FINED £75. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, May 24. Following a raid on Saturday, Frederick Lawrence Kenny, aged 59, was fined £75 by Mr E. L. Walton, S.M., today, on a charge of keeping a common gaming house. Detective G. A. McWhirter stated that the accused did extremely good business, 87 double and 74 straight-out .bets having been taken on the day of the raid. Kenny had been before the court on four previous occasions, the last time being fined £75. Two men found on the premises were fined £ 1 and costs.
