RIFLE SHOOTING
ALFREDTON CHAMPIONSHIP. WON BY RIFLEMAN H. PERCY. (“Times-Age" Special.) The final of the aggregate competition was fired on Saturday under favourable conditions although the light became very dull for the last men at 600 yards. Rmn. C. Morrison was right on form to win the day’s trophy with a good score of 144. The Edmons Cup for the club championship was won by Rmn. H. Percy with a score of 981, with Rmn. L. Duckett (977) runner-up. Rmn. C. Morrison takes the Marie Kebbell Rose Bowl for the winner of the handicap aggregate while the Godinagh Shield and Moate Rose Bowl for second and third places go to L. Duckett and D. Johansen, respectively. The Akel Cup for men starting the season with 10 points or more handicap was won by Rmn. R. Algie. The following were Saturday’s scores: —
Handicap limit 140. The annual musketry course will be fired next Saturday. , KAIPARORO CLUB. CHAMPIONSHIP TO C. WELCH. Members of the Kaiparoro Defence Rifle Club fired over the 800 and 900 yards ranges on Wednesday to complete the championship competition. Rmn. C. Welch won the championship cup with 441, and also won the handicap championship cup with 464. Rmn. D. J. Dick won the runner-up championship cup with 431. Rmn. W. Brad'dick won the runner-up handicap cup with 460. Mr W. Henson’s trophy was won by Rmn. K. Henson with 233. The aggregate competition was also competed for, Rmn. C. Welch won the long range cup with 651 and Rmn. D. J. Dick won the short range cup with 662 and also annexed the Tyro cup with 933.
