TROON TOURNAMENT SOME IMPRESSIVE VICTORIES (Recd This Day, 10 a.m.) LONDON, May 23. In the Troon golf tournament the British Walker Cup player Kyle, defeated Nettlefold (Australia), 5/4; Ryan (Australia), defeated P. Lucas two up; R MacGregor defeated Rundle (Australia), 9/7; McKay (Australia), defeated Macdonald 3/1; Titleholder, Sweeney, defeated J. Hordern, 4/2. Other winners included the Americans R. G. Smith, Oiumet. Goodmet, Kocsis, Marvinward, Ray. Billows and the Canadian champion, Ross Sommerville, all of whom scored impressive victories. Lucas (Cambridge University), is the best left-handed golfer- in England, and it has-been humorously suggested that he should play for the world’s left-handed championship against Nettlefold, whom the “Daily Mail,” described as the best lefthander in the world.
