DRIVERS’ LICENCES

NUMBER ISSUED TO DATE Although the total issued shows an increase to date, there is still a large number of drivers who have not obtained licences for the 1938-39 year, which commences on June 1. Up to last night 317 new licences had been issued by the Masterton Borough Council, as against 213 up to the same date last year. The total number of new licences issued up to and including June 1 last year was 1330, which shows, that if that total is to be reached this year, the Borough Council has a busy week ahead. The total number of licences issued for the 1937-38 year was 2244.
