TUESDAY’S BALL

WAIRARAPA’S BIG EFFORT FLOOD RELIEF FUND. PROVISION FOR OVERFLOW ATTENDANCE. The Wairarapa appeal for financial assistance to the sufferers in the recent Hawke’s Bay flood will reach its climax next Tuesday night, when a ball will be held in the Masterton Municipal Hall. It is fully expected by the Masterton committee that there will be an exceptionally large attendance of dancers from all parts of the district and with a view to making provision for accommodating dancers in case the Municipal Hall proves inadequate the Masonic Hall will be utilised, this hall having been offered free of charge by the Masonic Hall Co. A meeting of the ladies’ committee organising the supper arrangements for the ball was held in the Municipal Chambers last night. Mrs T. Jordan presided over a good attendance. Arrangements are well in hand and the committee is sparing no effort to make the supper one of the features of the ball. Mrs Jordan would be grateful for donations of milk, cakes, savouries, ham and sandwich fillings. Donations will be gratefully acknowledged by Mesdames Jordan and Pither. MAYOR’S FUND. ADDITIONAL DONATIONS. The Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, acknowledges receipt of the following additional donations to the fund: — £ s. d.

Wairarapa Radios, Ltd amplying equipment and installation. Donations may be left with Mr Jordan or at the "Times-Age” Office and will be acknowledged in the Press.
