THRILLING FINISH

TO WRESTLING MATCH. (By Telegraph—Press Association). PALMERSTON NORTH. May 19. In a thrilling finish to an exhilarating wrestling match tonight at Palmerston North, Jack Kennedy, 16.4, drew with Cowboy Pat Fraley, 16.2. From the outset the bout was full of solid wrestling, interspersed with interesting embellishments. Fraley initiated the roughness, but frequently objected to being repaid in kind. The wrestlers surprised by their agility for heavyweights, and though Fraley usually appeared to have something in reserve Kennedy nevertheless wrestled well. Kennedy’s aggressiveness won him a points lead in the first few rounds, but in the fifth Fraley took the first fall with his celebrated flying toehold. Smartly applied, it caused Kennedy to concede a submission fall almost instantaneously. Elbow jolts and other pleasantries enlivened the next two rounds. In the eighth Fraley objected to being floored with a flying tackle, and gave' Kennedy several elbow jolts. He had Kennedy up against the ropes whenthe referee, Mr W. Nicholls, intervened and pulled Fraley away from his opponent. 'Kennedy added his weight to the melee and the three men fell to the floor, Kennedy receiving an opportunity to secure the equalising fall with a bodj'-press.
