POSITION IN DANNEVIRKE (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, May 19. At yesterday’s meeting of the Dannevirke Hospital Board, Mr A. England drew attention to the comparative remuneration of the nurses, ,£l6O a year, and the head gardener, £360 a year and a free house. He considered that the nursing profession was underpaid. There should be no cheese-paring where the nurses’ remuneration was concerned, he said. The chairman, Mr L. Stein, stated that salaries at Dannevirke compared favourably with other hospitals, but he agreed the nurses were entitled to good remuneration.
