DIFFERENTIAL V. UNIFORM SYSTEMS COMPARED. EFFECT IN VARIOUS RIDINGS. An informative statement of the difference in rating that would be effected in the Masterton County Council if a uniform basis over the whole county were adopted, compared with the present system of a differential rate over the several ridings was presented to the special meeting of the council on Wednesday night by the County Clerk, Mr J. C. D. Mackley. The principal points of the statement were: — STATEMENT A. Showing under the several colums:— 1. Actual general rate product of several ridings on a differential basis for the year 1937-38; (2) actual general rate product of the several ridings on a uniform basis for the year 1937-38; (3) actual general rate product of the several ridings on a differential basis for the year 1938-39 based on the estimates for that year; (4) actual general rate product of the several ridings on a uniform basis for the year 1938-39 based on the estimates for that year. Actual Rate Levy 1937-38.
