The abnormal season had had a very harmful effect on the cricket and football fields, stated Mr W. H. Moyes, principal of the New Plymouth Boys’ High School, when reporting to the board meeting. Large areas of paspalum had become established, making it extremely difficult to mow. With the object of getting rid of it part of the cricket ground had been ploughed and re-sown.
