Fame For New Plymouth Boy.
When Allan Silby, a New Plymouth boy, borrowed a ladder and swept a swarm of bees into a bag he little realised his act was to make him famous. Though clad only in shirt and shorts, he thought nothing of it some months ago when he climbed to the verandah of a hotel to make his capture. Imagine his surprise, therefore, when he received a letter from an American youth magazine asking for full details of his experience, an account of his hobbies and sports interests and a photograph.
