The Australians in their first innings made 284 runs (Chipperfield 71, Bradman 65, and Ponsford 56). In their second innings, they totalled 234 runs (Brown 113). Northampton in the first innings totalled 187 runs (Snowdon 105), and in their second innings the county made 133 runs for 9 wickets (Timms 50, Bakewell 53). Fleetwood-Smith was the outstanding bowler for the Australians, securing 5 wickets for 73 runs, and 5 for 29.
