ESPERANTO CLUB

MEETING LAST EVENING. The weekly meeting of the Masterton Esperanto Club was held last night, Mr A. Dewar, D.8.E.A., presiding over a good attendance of members. As secretary of the New Zealand Esperanto Association, Mr W. H. King reported that correspondence had been received during the week from Hungary, Holland, England, Belgium, Spain and Czechoslovakia. Advertising matter to hand included prospectuses from the Vienna International Exhibition, the Tourist Department of Brazil and from the committee of the 34th Eucharistic Congress, to be held in Budapest from May 25 to 29, Esperanto being one of the official languages of the congress. Journals received were “La Interligilo,” official organ of the International League of Esperantist Post and Telegraph Officers; “Cielarka Standard,” (international co-operative movement) and “Esperanto Internacia,” the monthly journal of the International Esperantists’ League, the parent body of individual Esperantists throughout the world and of national organisations. The meeting decided to set up a subcommittee for the purpose of acquiring a new club room.
