The Norwegian Premier, M. Nygaardsvold, said that new expenditure would include £4,000,000 to electrify the railways. A seventeenth-century barrel organ formerly used to supply the music of the parish church has been found in an oast house at Udimore, Sussex. A bridge of welded steel across the new Albert Canal near Hasselt, Belgium, broke into three pieces lately while an electric tram and several pedestrians were passing over it. All reached the bank before it collapsed. It had been tested for a load of 200 tons.
