INTOXICATED DRIVER
♦ SHOP ASSISTANT FINED (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 17. A young man who drove a constable through Queen Street to the Central Police Station 'during a busy period of the day and was later arrested on a charge of being found in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor-car in Customs Street on May 9, was fined £25 and costs in the Magistrate’s Court today. His driving licence was cancelled for two years. Accused, William Mullally, aged 21. shop assistant, was represented by Mr Robinson. A further charge of using obscene language was preferred. Pleas of not guilty were entered on both charges. On the charge of using obscene language accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on within six months.
