POWER CHARGES
REQUEST FOR REDUCTION CANTERBURY RESOLUTION (By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMARU, May 16. “That this annual meeting the South Canterbury Electric Power Board draws the attention of the Minister for Public Works to the urgent need for a reduction in the charge for electricity, without which supplies could not be given to. outlaying settlers, nor can that full use be made of the electricity which people are entitled to from a nationally-owned service, wherein electricity is abundantly available,” was the text of a resolution carried unanimously 'by the board this morning.
