(Recd This Day, 1.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 16. A world conference on economic problems, including access to raw materials and involving the colonial question, is expected to follow the Anglo-American trade negotiations. It is believed that the United States is initiating the conference, strongly supported by Britain. The main purpose is the settling of the differences of the “haves” and “have-nots,” aiming at the removal of economic causes of international friction. It is expected that there will be a possibility of discussing the problem of richer and poorer nations. There will also be an attempt to remove tariff barriers and currency restrictions.
