DEFENCE OF MADRID

CHANGE MADE IN COMMAND. (Recd This Day, 9.35 a.m.) MADRID, May 16. The Loyalist Commander-in-Chief, General Miaja, has appointed Colonel Sigismundo Casado to command on the Madrid front. Colonel Jose Salis will succeed Colonel Casado in the command in Southern Spain.
