HEALTHY THOUGHTS

REFLECTION IN CARRIAGE. A writer some years ago said that if our thoughts are healthy and resolute, these qualities will be reflected in our carriage and manner of walking, says a "Harley Street Physician,” writing in the “Listener.” Our minds can help to make our bodies sick or well, strong or weak, according to the thoughts we harbour. We may follow all the rules of diet and eat the healthiest food in the world, but if w’e eat it in a sour temper we shall put sourness into our stomachs, and as a result, sourness into our faces. The cannibal says he gets strength from eating his enemy. Probably the psychological reason for this belief, however little the cannibal suspects it, is that he partakes of the feast in a spirit of triumph after his victory. Surely we may sum up all this by saying that if we always aim at being healthy, active and vigorous,' in proportion to our faith so will it be.
