M. SPAAK FORMS NON-PARTY CABINET BRUSSELS, May 14. The troubles of the Prime Minister, M. Paul Janson, caused by the non-co-operation of the Catholic Party have reached a climax, resulting in the resignation of the Cabinet. M. Spaak has formed a non-party Cabinet, including non-Parliamentarians. INCREASE IN NUMBERS NON-PARLIAMENTARIANS INCLUDED (Recd This Day, 9.45 a.m.) BRUSSELS, May 15. M. Spaak’s new non-party Cabinet, which includes non-Parliamentarians. comprises eleven members instead of fifteen. The personnel is:— Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs, M. Spaak. Transport, M. Marek. Education, M. Dierck. Finance, M. Gerard. Justice, M. Gohlien. Interior, M. Merlot. Defence, Lieutenant-General Denis. Economics and Agriculture, M. Paul Heymans. Labour, M. Delatre. Public Works, M. Balthasar. Colonies, M. Devices Chauwer. Three non-party members are included to assist in the task of balancing the Budget, which includes passing a crisis tax, levying additional duties on tobacco, petrol and beer, and cutting down expenditure, stimulating exports and providing for defence.
