INDOOR BOWLS
MASTERTON CLUB RINKS COMPETITION The Masterton Indoor Bowling Club continued the rinks competition and some fine even games were played last week. Davies’s rink is the only team which has not, so far, had a loss. The following are the results of last week’s games: Hendry 22, beat Fenton 14; Simpson 23, beat Shearer 15; Pickering 25, beat Finlayson 17; Dixon 19, beat C. Roff 14; Dixon 17, beat Simpson 13; Hendry 20, beat Finlayson 14; Shearer 17 beat Pickering 12; Davies 25 beat L. Roff 16; Fenton 25 beat C. Roff 21. In a challenge match for the Park Ferns, Kennard and Wiltshire (challengers) defeated Finlayson and Pinkney (holders). The following are the games arranged this week: Wednesday, 7 p.m., No. 1 Finlayson v. L. Roff; No. 2, Hendry v Simpson, 8.30 p.m.; No. 1 Shearer v Fenton, No. 2, Dixon v Pickering. Thursday, 7 p.m., No. 1, Davies v Dixon; No. 2, C. Roff v L. Roff. 8.30 p.m., No. 1, Hendry v Pickering, No 2, Finlayson v Simpson. Any player not playing in the rinks competition and who wishes to be included in the Pairs, should notify the secretary as the teams will be drawn this week.
