PLUNKET SOCIETY
APPEAL FOR MORE MEMBERS. HELP NEEDED IN SPLENDID WORK. The committee of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society feels confident that, after hearing from the various radio stations of the wonderful results of the scientific study of the late Sir Truby King, together with the co-operation of the nursing service and parents, the public will respond to the appeal launched this week for new members. To function successfully, a branch requires funds. A largely increased membership will relieve the committee of a constant anxiety. In this district two skilled nurses give every woman seeking their advice the necessary knowledge for building up the new generation, thus ensuring for them the best foundation of good health. In this favoured country, where the essentials for simple living are of the best, it cannot be too often impressed that “health is happiness.”
All who value for themselves and others the priceless gift of good health are asked to assist the society in its essential work.
Subscriptions may be left at the Plunket Rooms from 1.30 p.m. to. 4 p.m.. on any afternoon but Saturday. The rooms arc open from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on that day. Subscriptions may also be forwarded to Mrs N. Irwin (hon. treasurer), Pownall Street, Masterton. PART-TIME MEDICAL ADVISER. DR E. H. WILLIAMS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 15. At a meeting of the Dominion executive of the Plunket Society last week Mr E. H. Williams, senior honorary physician to the Truby King Harris Hospital, Dunedin, was appointed medical adviser to the council of the society in a temporary and part-time capacity pending the appointment of a successor to Dr B. M. Tweed, who recently resigned from the office of full-time medical adviser. Dr Williams has been closely associated with the work of the society and its main training school in Dunedin since the foundation of the society in Dunedin by the late Sir Truby King.
