WRESTLING
MEEHAN BEATS KENNEDY (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, May 14. Pat Meehan (16.3) and Jack Kennedy (16.4) entertained a large crowd at the Town Hall on Saturday night in a wrestling contest which went the full distance. Kennedy proved himself the better straight wrestler and once he had a hold applied he held it well, but some
of his tactics did not find favour with the crowd. Meehan took the only fall of the contest with a body press in the sixth round, and when he staved off his opponent over the two remaining rounds his victory was acclaimed. JENSEN AND MOEN DRAW (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH. May 15. Leo Jensen and Andy Moen drew, neither man gaining a fall, in one of the best wrestling exhibitions seen at New Plymouth.
FRALEY BEATS BAFFERT (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WHANGAREI, May 14. In a spectacular wrestling bout in the Whangarei Town Hall last night, Pat Fraley beat Alf Baffert by a submission fall in the sixth round. On a points basis Baffert was slightly leading until that stage.
