The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board advises that the following are the ruling prices of wholesale ''quantities of the descriptions of frozen meat mentioned and are for representative parcels of the goods sold on Thursday, May 12, at Smithfield. (Chilled beef prices are averages of the week): — New Zealand Sheep: Crossbred wethers and/or maiden ewes, u/48, 5 7-8 d; 49/56, 53d; 57/64, sd; 65/72, 4 7-Bd. Ewes, u/48, 4d; 49/56, 31d; 57/64, 33d; 65/72, 33 d. New Zealand Lamb's: Canterbury, u/36, 7?d; 37/42, 73d; 43/50, 73d; second quality, average about 31, 7Jd. Other South Island, u/36, 75d; 37/42, 7 5-8 d; 43/50, 73d. North Island Downs, u/36, 73d; 37/42, 7 5-8 d; 43/50, 73d; second quality, average about 30, 73d. North Island first quality, u/36, 7 5-8 d; 37/42, 7Jd; second quality, average about 31, 7 3-Bd.. New Zealand Porker Pigs: First quality, 61/80, 6 7-8 d; 81/100, 6 7-8 d; 101/120, 6*7-Bd. New Zealand Baconer Pigs: 121/160, 7d. New Zealand Chilled Beef; Ox hinds, 4Jd; fores, 33d. Lamb Market: Easier feeling as higher prices tending to reduce consumption, especially in view of lower prices home-killed. Mutton Market: Wethers and ewes, steady with prices unchanged, with trade slovz. Beef Market: Frozen beef nominal. Chilled beef, easier, particularly fores, owing to heavy supplies and warm weather. New Zealand Porker Pigs: Easier, owing to poor demand. New Zealand Baconer Pigs: Tendency is easier owing to lower bacon prices.
