TREATMENT OF CANCER
DRAMATIC ADVANCES MADE PROGRESS IN RECENT YEARS (Recd This day, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, May 13. “Dramatic advances” in the treatment of cancer were claimed by Mr Cecil Rowntree, senior surgeon at the annual meeting of the Royal Cancer Hospital. He said that during the past year, with the latest and most efficient apparatus possible they had consolidated somewhat tentative conclusions regarding the best methods for treating different kinds. They now knew which was best treated by surgical operation, and which by using a low voltage type of x-ray machine. They were constantly curing cancer on the face, lip and the skin generally with such certainty, simplicity and safety never experienced previously. If given such cases in a reasonably early stage they were able to guarantee completely a speedy disappearance.
