FLOOD RELIEF BALL
KEEN ENTHUSIASM SHOWN. GATHERING NEXT WEEK. Every town in the Wairarapa now has a very strong organisation in train and is working with great enthusiasm for the Hawke's Bay flood relief ball in the Municipal Hall on May 24. During the weekend each town will be supplied with 500 tickets and the organisers are confident that more tickets will be wanted. The committee again stresses the point that, as this will probably be the only public appeal to the residents of the Wairarapa, the people could' show their sympathy by buying as many tickets as possible. A very generous gesture has been made by the Gladstone Sports Club. This body was to have held its annual ball on May 24 but at some inconvenience it has alter its date to Wednesday, June 8. Tickets ;are available everywhere, or in bulk from the A. and P. Association Buildings, Perry Street, the treasurer, Mr T. Jordan, or the secretary, Mr D. Ward, Box 25, Masterton.
