LONDON SALES. MERINOS DEARER. (Recd This Day, 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, May 12. At the wool sales 9905 bales were offered, including 6781 from New Zealand and 7850 were sold. There was a good selection, chiefly New Zealand crossbreds, which, together with the best Australian merinos sold actively to the Home trade and the Continent. Greasy merinos now are from par to 5 per cent dearer and withdrawals are chiefly, among slipes, owing to firm limits.
Prices realised were New Zealand greasy crossbred, Motukawa, 9d and lOd; halfbred Ngaio Downs, lOd and 12d; scoured merino pieces R. and Co., 17ld and 181 d.
